Saturday May 9th

The final club game of the 2009/10 season was between the third team and relegated London Hospital OB. Having played the previously day it was always going to be a patchwork team and so it proved with the thirds losing 2-1. Harley Moore scored their only goal.

Saturday May 8th

It was a battle for third place between the third team and Wood Green OB, who they beat 5-1 two weeks earlier. It was a lot tighter this time but the third team prevailed and came out 2-1 winners with goals from Harley Moore and Shaun Edwards. This victory secured third place which was an improvement on last season.

Saturday May 1st

The second team finished off their season in fine style with a good double victory over Wood Green OB. The seconds won the first game 3-0 with brace from Ryan Wood and a goal from Joe Deadman and really turned up the pressure in the return fixture. Dan Massey scored a hat-trick, Jason Francis scored twice and James Webster once in their 6-0 victory. The seconds finished in a very creditable third position which was a couple of places improvement on last season. The third team lost 4-1 to Old Bealonians IV, who finished in runner up position. Shaun Edwards scored their only goal of the game. The relegation issue between the fourth team and Goffs Old Boys was decided midweek (Goffs were relegated) when the fours beat Old Aloysians. It was probably just as well as what was expected to be a relegation decider went Goffs way as they beat the fours 6-2. Kemar Gordon and Ricky both scored. The Veteran team beat Old Parmitarians Vets 4-1. Richard Snedker (2), Dan Mose and Andy Middleton all scored.

Wednesday April 28th.

The big match of the week was Old Aloysians VI verses the fourth team.

Aloysians were already relegated but have recently shown a remarkable turnaround in form since then while the fours needed one win from their last two games to avoid relegation.

Egbertians made a bright start creating a handful of chances in the opening stages. Both Ashlee Vaughan and Oeshane Brooks were having plenty of joy down the wings and after some good play down the right hand side Ashlee swung in a cross come shot which found the back of the net. The game continued with both teams keen to attack. With the game flowing end to end Egbertains won a corner. Oeshane crossed into the box which Duncan Hill met with his head and with a deflection the ball ended up in the goal.

With Egbertians leading 2-0 at half time another goal would surely kill off the game for Old Aloysians. Shortly into the second half the third goal came courtesy of Lee Doyle, which was his fifth goal in his third game for the club, after good work from the midfield. With the score at 3-0 Egbertians seemed comfortable.

However, despite being three down Old Aloysians continued to attack and began to create some clear cut chances and within minutes pulled a goal back. Five minutes later the score was 3-2 and the Egs began to look nervy at the back. Old Alyosians now seemed to create chances at will and it was no surprise when they scored the equalizer. With twenty five minutes left both teams still had plenty of time to win the game.

Both teams were creating chances. Egbertians had a goal disallowed for offside and Old Aloysians missed a one on one when other options were available to them. With the score 3-3 and with twenty minutes left Egbertians broke forward and with Oeshane Brooks through on goal he calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.

Despite a nervy last 15 minutes, in which Old Alyosians missed a one on one and had a penalty appeal turned down, Egbertians held on to win what turned out to be a very tight game 4-3 which assures their position in Division Five for another season.

Saturday April 24th

The penultimate Saturday of the season saw a patch work second team secure a very good 2-2 draw with Albanian III, who have won every league game they have played this season and with only two to play must have fancied their chances of winning all of them. Dan Massey and Jake Giddings scored one each to spoil what would have been a very impressive record. The third team had a promotion clash with Wood Green OB III and came out 5-1 winners. They went 1-0 down just before half time but two goals in a ten minute spell from Matt Withey and Shaun Edwards swung the game back in the thirds favour before Jody Jeffrey, Oeshane Brookes and Kemar Gordon scored to seal a very comprehensive victory. This now puts them in third spot but too far away for a top two position. The fourth team lost 6-1 to Old Woodhouseians II. Lee Doyle scored their only goal. With Goffs OB also losing it means that the fours just have to avoid defeat against Goffs this Saturday to avoid relegation. However, if they beat Old Aloysians tomorrow then the result on Saturday will be irrelevant. The Veteran team beat Cheshunt Vets 2-0 with goals from Dave Smith and Richard Snedker.

Saturday April 17th

The first team were officially relegated when Old Aloysians III beat Old Kingsburians midweek. The fourth team won their third game in four with a good 4-2 win over Southgate County. Lee Doyle scored a hat-trick on his first appearance for the club and Daniel Steele the other. However, with Goffs OB also winning this will go to the wire although they are both catching Old Tollingtonians above them. The key game will be the fours verses Goffs on the 1st May.

Saturday April 10th

The first team played their last game of the season against fellow relegation rivals Old Aloysians III and finished the season with a 1-1 draw. Mark Chinnery scored his first goal for the club. With only two points difference between them and second bottom place relegation looms. The fourth team continued their good form of late with a 3-0 win over Old Tollingtonians II. Stephen Carruthers, Grant Harris, Oeshane Brookes all scored one apiece. However, with relegation rivals Goff OB also winning it does not put any daylight between them. The Veteran Team went down 3-2 to William Fitt OB. Steve Treserdern and Dan Winters scored.

Saturday March 27th

The first team lost both their games to Old Parmiterians II. They were 2-0 down at half time in their first game before Ross Flanders pulled one back. Parms then bought on three subs which made a difference and they eventually ran out 5-2 winners. They went 4-0 down in the second game before Ian Aldous scored his first goal for the club- a cracking left foot volley whilst under pressure in the box. Andrew Manning scored his third goal in four games before Parms scored again to make the final score 5-2. The second team’s promotion hopes were dented with a double loss to Mayfield Athletic losing 5-2 (Robert Harris and Danny Rhone) and 5-0 respectively. The third team played out a rare 0-0 draw with Old Buckwellians III which was a good result considering they lost 6-2 to them three weeks ago. This puts paid to their championship hopes but with two games to play verses Wood Green they have second spot to play for. The fourth team lost a tight encounter with Albanian V losing 3-2 with goals from Ashlee Vaughan and Stephen Carruthers. It was all one way traffic in the second fixture and they lost 12-2. Richard Offord and Daniel Steele scored one each. The veteran team had a 1-1 draw with Metropolitan Police courtesy of an own goal.

Saturday March 20th

The first team played a double header with unbeaten this season Albanian II and by all accounts gave them a good run for their money. They lost the first game 3-1 after conceding twice in the last five minutes. (Ross Flanders) but came back strongly in the second game and secured a very creditable 1- 1 draw. Andrew Manning scored their goal. It’s probably too late for this season but the improved first teams performances of late bodes well for next season. The second team had a good 4-1 victory over Hale End III. Ryan Wood scored twice and Adam Hole and Mike Hand one each in this impressive victory. This puts them in fourth position and only three points behind second place University of Herts who have played four games more. However, Mayfield Athletic are only three points behind the seconds with four games in hand. My money would be on Albanian III winning the division (played and won all 12 games) and either the seconds or Mayfield to finish second. They have yet to play each other this season. The third team beat Hale End IV 2-0 with goals from Jordan Morris and Oeshane Brookes. This puts them in third position (22 points) behind Beals (29) and Wood Green (25) having all played 12 games (six to play). Beals look good for promotion but the key games will be the two games verses Wood Green and the return fixtures verses Beals. After a long run of eight consecutive league defeats the fourth team had a very welcome win verses Latymer OB III. Ashlee Vaughan, Grant Harris, Richard Offord and Greg Harris all scored in their 4-2 victory. This puts a three point gap between them, Goffs OB and Aloysians but its any two from these three to get relegated. The Vets team beat Margaretsbury Vets in their return fixture from last week (they lost 1-0) and with a full team won 5-0. Andy Middleton scored four times with Simone Grattarola the other. This gives them a won 11, lost 6, draw 1 record so far this season.

Saturday March 13th

The first team had some joy at the weekend with a 2-1 win over Old Kingsburians. This was a repeat scoreline from earlier in the season so they have done the double over them. Dominic Baldwin and Gavin Wynter both scored. It was honours even in the second team’s doubleheader with Mill Hill County II. In two tight games they lost the first game 2-1 (John Day) but won the second game 2-1 with goals from Ryan Wood and Dan Massey, who scored the winner with the last kick of the game. The third team shared eight goals with Mill Hill County III. Matt Withey scored a brace and Richard Wood and Oeshane Brookes one each in a 4-4 draw. The fourth team lost both their games in a double header with Leyton County III. They went down 3-0 in the first game and 4-1 in the second. Ashley Vaughan scored their only goal. The veteran team lost 1-0 to St Margaretsbury Vets.

Saturday March 6th

The rain held off this weekend and all teams played. The first team played a double header verses Enfield OG II and lost 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. Andrew Manning scored their only goal. The second team faired better in their double header against Globe Rangers winning the first game 2-1 with goals from Vince Cruickshank and Adam Hole and

winning the return fixture 5-1. Adam Hole was again on target with a brace with the other goals being scored by Ryan Wood, Joe Lusting and Dan Massey. The third team probably put in their worst performance of the season losing 6-2 to Old Buckwellians III. There was very little in it in terms of play and the thirds were by far the most creative team of the two but lack a cutting edge up front which Old Bucks had in the form of a very good striker (who must have scored four) and this was the difference.

Harley Moore and Kemar Gorden scored for the thirds. The fourth team suffered their sixth straight league defeat and are slipping down the table after losing 3-1 to Old Minchendenians III. Ashley Vaughan scored their only goal. The Veteran team beat Brentwood Vets 3-0 with goals from Andy Middleton, Dave Smith and Dan Mose.

Saturday February 27th

Only the second team’s away game to University of Herts played this weekend. A sloppy start with individual mistakes saw the seconds go 2-0 down before a flowing move saw John Day reduce the deficit. Uni of Herts then went 3-1 against the run of play just before half time. The seconds totally dominated the second half but despite numerous chances only had a Ryan Wood goal to show for it eventually losing 3-2.

Saturday February 20th

Only two games survived the weather. The Fourth team lost to Goffs Old Boys 6-2. Skutt Hoare and Greg Harris scored one each. The Veteran Team beat Theydon Bois vets 1-0. The winner was scored by Andy Middleton with a rasping drive and those who suggest it was actually a cross will be on the subs bench next week.

Saturday February 13th

Not one of our better weekends. The first team had a must win match against fellow strugglers Old Aloysians III but could only manage a 1-1 draw. Tony Teece scored their only goal. The second team lost half their defence to injury within thirty minutes including a dislocated shoulder for James Miller against Old Aloysians V and lost 1-0 in what was a scrappy game. It was 0-0 at half time between the fourth team and Bealonians V when really they should have been two goals to the goods after Daniel Steele had missed a penalty and a sitter. This came back to haunt them in the second half as Beals scored five times to win the game 5-0. It was unfortunate as this scoreline was a distortion of the game as Beals were not five goals better than them. The Veteran Team played Tansley Vets and won 3-1 . Andy Middleton, Jimmy Hall and Dan Hill all scored. The thirds had no game.

Saturday February 6th

For the first twenty minutes there was nothing in it between the first team and Old Minchendenians II. They then conceded a sloppy goal from a corner and shortly after a second following a good move, cross and finish to go 2-0 down at half time. The second half was mostly one way traffic with Minch’s very good movement and team work paying dividends and they scored four more in the second half to run out 6-0 winners. The second team played Old Manorians II from Intermediate West (two divisions above them) in the LOB cup. In a very tight first half the seconds opened the scoring early when Luke Giddings hooked in from a corner and it stayed like this until halftime. In the second half Manorians were in the ascendancy but the second team well organised defence kept them at bay and it was against the run of play when the Manorians defender scored an own goal when under pressure from Vince Cruickshank. However, the game changed when Luke Giddings, who was having a great game in central midfield, went off injured and with no other obvious CM players it was round pegs in square holes and the game swung firmly back in Manorians favour. It was no surprise when a great strike and a header goal from a flick on bought it back to 2-2. A superb goal from outside the area was worthy of being the winner but Manorians scored a fourth late on with a wicked deflection that just about bobbled into the net to end up 4-2 winners. The seconds put in a great performance but were beaten by a better team on the day. The fourth team lost 3-1 to Old Woodhouseians II while the Veteran Team lost 3-2 to William Fitt Vets. Richard Snedker from the penalty spot and Jimmy Hall were the scorers.

Saturday January 30th

The away games survived the weather. The first team lost 4-0 to Globe Rangers and need to get a few points on the board to pull away from the wrong end of the table. The third team beat Hale End IV 3-1 which now puts them second in the table. Dan Jolley scored a brace in his last game for the club before entering non league football. Harley Moore scored the other. The Veteran team lost 6-2 to Brittania Vets. Dan Winters scored once with the other being an own goal in what was a rare defeat for the Vets.

Saturday January 23rd

Having had five blank weekends due to bad weather so far this season we need to start playing games otherwise we will run out of available pitches at the end of the season. Happily everybody played this weekend.

The first team had their return league fixtures verses Hale End II. They went one up through Dave Moore before conceding a penalty that was duly converted. They conceded another scored penalty to go 2-1 down before Hale End scored again. Ross Flanders then pulled one back before Hale End scored a fourth with the firsts pressing, to win the game 4-2.

The second team had an excellent result in the LOB Cup against Parkfield II, who are in Senior North III which is three divisions above them. Joe Deadman, Like Giddings, Joe Spiers, Ryan Wood and John Day all scored in a 5-1 victory. They play the next round of the cup this Saturday against Old Manorian Reserves from Intermediate West. Shaun Edwards scored for the third team in their 1-1 draw with UCL Acedemicals IV. That’s their third draw in their last four league games which is hampering their promotion push. The fourth team played a friendly verses Old Parmetarians and put up a good show with a 4-3 victory. Skutt Hoare scored a couple along with Grant Harris and Ashlee Vaughan. The veteran team played BR Vets in a match that was eventually abandoned after 70 minutes. By that time the Vets were 3-2 up with goals from Richard Snedker, Gari Savanhu and a wonder strike from Dan Mose.

Saturday January 16th

No games survived the weather.

Saturday January 9th

No games survived the weather.

Saturday December 5th

No games survived the weather.

Saturday November 28th

An under par performance from the second team saw them lose 2-0 to Queen Mary College OB. The third team played a friendly game verses Southgate County and lost 7-4. The fourth team lost 7-2 to Old Minchendenians III. Ashlee Vaughan and Daniel Steele were their scorers. The first and Vets games were cancelled due to waterlogged pitches.

Saturday November 21st

Having lost their last seven games and conceding 39 goals in the process it was probably fair to say that the first team needed a victory. And so it came to pass with a 5-0 victory over UCL Acedemicals III. In a game that they dominated Tony Teece opened the scoring after cutting inside two players and scoring across the keeper. Tom White scored a second after the half time break with a deft chip over the keeper and two defenders following a poor clearance . Dave Moore then volleyed in a third before Tony Teece scored his eighth goal this season with a 30 yard volley. Sam Shepherd rounded off a very satisfying day with a goal on his debut. The second team are through to the fourth round of the AFA Cup after a comprehensive 6-0 defeat of London Welsh II. Ryan Wood and John Day scored two each and there was a goal each for Danny Rhone and Vincent Cruickshank. The third team shared four goals with Old Parmitarians IV, both of whom are unbeaten in the league this season. Jordan Morris and Dan Jolley both scored in their 2-2 draw. The fourth team lost 2-1 to Tollingtonians II. Kemar Gordon scored their only goal. A Richard Snedker penalty equalised for The Veteran team against Bocca Vets. In an incident mired in controversy Simone Grattarola was bought down in the area amide protestations from the opposition that he had dived. Those who know Simone would know that this could not possibly be the case. The match ended in a one all draw.

Saturday November 14th

Surprising two games survived the weather. The first team played Icarus FC who are one of the armed forces teams (The RAF). Not surprisingly they were very fit which showed in the latter stages of the second half and they won the game 6-1. Dominic Baldwin scored the first’s goal. The third team dropped their first league points of the season when Shaun Edwards scored in their 1-1 draw with London Hospital OB.

Saturday November 7th

Not one of the better weekends for the club when we lost all four games played. The first team lost 4-1 to Old Minchendenians II. Tony Teece scored their solitary goal from the penalty spot . The second team lost their first game this season to Albanians III, who look to be one of the stronger teams in the division. The seconds went 2-1 down before Vince Cruickshank pulled it back to 2-1. Matt Paxton then saved a penalty but conceded twice more in the second half to eventually lose the game 4-1. The fourth team played Old Isleworthians IV in the AFA cup. They were leading 4-3 until late in the second half with goals from Stephen Carruthers, Kemar Gorden, Ashlee Vaughan and Emerie Nebonta. However, they were pegged back to 4-4 and conceded a winner late on. The Veteran Team lost 7-1 to Wormley Vets in the Vets cup, who are one of the strongest teams on the Vets circuit. Richard Snedker scored their only goal.

Saturday October 31st

The first team lost to Old Magdalenians for the second time this season losing 6-0 who are looking to be one of the stronger teams in that division. The second team beat bottom of the table Queen Mary College 3-1 with a brace from Jason Francis and an own goal to go second in the division. The third team had a diffcult tie verses UCL Acedemicals III in the LOB Cup who are in Intermediate North, which is four divisions above the fours who play in Division four. The thirds went 3-1 down before pulling it back to 3-3 at half time. After ninety minutes it was 4-4 with two goals from Dan Jolley and one each from Matt Withey and Harley Moore. It was very tight in extra time but Dan Jolley popped up to complete his hat-trick with a few minutes to spare to win the game 5-4. The fourth team beat Latymer OB 4-2. Daniel Steele, Lee Peters, Ashlee Vaughan and Grant Harris all scored one each. An own goal and an Andy Middleton strike saw the Veteran Team beat Mangrove Vets 2-1.

Saturday October 24th

It was goals galore at the weekend with 23 being scored including two hat-tricks. The first team were involved in a nine goal thriller withGlobe Rangers in the league. They lost 7-4 in a cup game to Globe only two weeks ago so a high scoring game was always on the cards and so it proved. Globe took the lead with a disputed penalty before Tony Teece capitalised on a poor kick from the keeper to make it 1-1. The firsts then conceded twice before Tony Teece scored again from a perfect cross from Tony Atkins. A 35 yard wonder goal saw Globe go two goals up before Dominic Baldwin pulled one back after more good work from Tony Atkins.

A penalty scored by Tony Teece to complete his hat-trick bought it back to all square. With their tails up the firsts went looking for a winner but after having missed two 1 on 1’s with the keeper they conceded a late penalty which was duly converted to lose 5-4. The second team continued their winning form in the AFA cup by beating Old Bromleians III. Jason Francis scored three, Ryan Wood two and Rob Lough once in their 6-2 victory. The third team’s 100% winning start to their league campaign continues. Dan Jolley and Shaun Edwards scored a brace each along with goals from Kemar Gordon and Harley Moore in their 6-1 victory verses Old Camdenians. The fourth team were 2-0 down to Old Aloysians VI but pulled in back to 2-2 at half time and scored another five in the second half to run out 7-2 winners. There were goals for Jevern Winstance (2), Daniel Steele (2), Richard Offord and Ashlee Vaughan. The Veteran Team’s match was abandoned against Harold Wood when one of the opposition suffered a serious leg injury.

Saturday October 16th

The second team remain unbeaten this season and had a solid 4-1 victory against Old Aloysians II. Danny Rhone scored twice and Ryan Wood and Jason Francis scored the other goals. The third team lost narrowly after extra time verses Minchendenians IV in the AFA cup. Kemar Gordon and Oeshane Brooks were on the score sheet before the thirds lost 3-2. The first, fourth and Veteran teams did not play.

Saturday October 10th

It was another cup game for the first team when they played Globe Rangers in the LOB Cup. Tony Teece scored a brace and Danny Nutkins and Paul Griggs scored one each in a 7-4 defeat. The second team got back to winning ways in the league with a 3-1 victory over the University of Hertfordshire. Scorers were Ryan Wood (2) and Vince Cruickshank. The third team beat Eccelsia 5-1 in a friendly. Erskine Smith, Steve Clarke Johnson, Jody Jeffrey, Matt Withey, and Steve Patmore all scored. The fourth team

lost 5-4 in a nine goal thriller against UCL Academicals IV in the LOB Cup. They went in at half time 4-1 down but a string of outstanding saves including a penalty save from second half goalkeeper Duncan Hill kept them in the game and they pulled it back to 4-4. However, a shot of outstanding quality eventually won it for UCL with a few minutes left. Steve Carruthers, Daniel Steele, Ashlee Vaughan and Lloyd Niblett all scored for the fours. The Vets continued their winning form with a 4-2 victory over Brentwood Vets. Dan Mose scored a couple and Richard Snedker and Paul Flowers the others.

Saturday October 3rd

The first team had a tough tie in the AFA Intermediate Cup verses Norseman Reserves. Norseman are one of the better clubs in the SAL league and so it proved with the firsts losing 5-1. Adam Martinez scored their solitary goal and his first goal for the club. The second team played Hale End II for the second consecutive week but this time in the league. They won last weekend but could only secure a 2-2 draw this time with Ryan Wood and Jason Francis scoring one each. The third team are rattling in the goals at the moment and scored another eight against Mill Hill County III. Dan Jolley scored five, Oeshane Brooks scored twice and Jody Jeffrey once in their comprehensive victory. The fourth team conceded six in a 6-3 loss to Old Bealonians V. Ashlee Vaughan scored a brace with the other an own goal. The Veteran team tasted cup success in a hard fought encounter with Deaconsfield in the Vets Cup. Simon Grattarola scored the winner in a 1-0 victory.

Saturday September 26th

The first team went 2-0 down to Old Magdalenians before Gavin Wynter pulled one back to make it 2-1. However, a defensive error lead to another goal being conceded and another late goal made it 4-1 to the home side. The second team played Hale End III from their same division in the AFA cup and had a good 3-2 victory. Robert Lough, Vince Cruickshank and Jason Francis scored the goals. The third team had a comprehensive 5-1 victory over UCL Acedemicals IV. Kemar Gorden scored his first hat-trick for the club while Steve Patmore and Jordan Morris scored a goal apiece. What’s the difference between Andy Middleton and Robbie Keane? Nothing as they both scored four at the weekend. Andy got his quadruple for the Veteran Team verses Lord Morpeth in a 7-2 victory. Dave Smith, Dan Hill and Steve Tresedern all scored one each. The fourth team did not play as their opposition pulled out on Friday night.

Saturday September 19th

The first team came down to earth with a bump and suffered a 6-0 defeat to Hale End II. The second team opened their league campaign and had a good 6-2 victory over Old Aloysians V with two goals from captain Danny Rhone and one each from Vince Cruickshank, Ryan Wood, Jason Francis and Dan Massey. The seconds performed well last season without ever really threatening the top positions and it will be interesting to see whether they can kick on this season. The third team were probably guilty of underperforming last season when several draws put paid to any promotion hopes and we expect great things from this season as they have a strong set of players. They have started their league programme well with a comfortable 8-1 win verses Old Bealonians V. Dan Jolley (2), Michael Nickey, Kemar Gordon, Michael Smith, Oshane Brooks, Jody Jeffrey and Jordan Morris were the scorers. The fourth team were 3-0 up in their league match with Southgate County but only just managed to squeeze home 4-3. Daniel Steele was amongst the scorers with two goals. The Veteran team suffered a 2-0 loss to the Met Police.

Saturday September 12th

The first team opened the club’s league season with a very creditable win over Old Kingsburians. A rather patch work team had a very good 2-1 victory with goals from Dominic Baldwin and Ryan Wood. The thirds played Latymer OB II and secured a 1-1 draw. The fourth team also played Latymer but lost 5-3 against their third team. New boy Stephen Carruthers was one of the scorers along with Daniel Steele and Dervan Smith. The Vets had the better of a eight goal thriller beating Old Chigwellians Vets 5-3. Former first team players Dave Smith and Simone Grattarola scored a brace each while Steve Tresedern got the other. The second team did not play.

Saturday September 5th

The Veteran team kicked off the season with a 2-1 (Jimmy Hall) loss to a strong BR vets team. The Vets finished the season strongly last season and with the addition of one or two new players during the close season it will be interesting to see what kind of season they have. The third team had a friendly verses Old Woodhouseians II and won 4-1 with goals from Kemar Gordon, Jordan Morris, Daniel Jolly and Shaun Edwards.
