A great performance against the runaway league leaders.

The match started well with Egbertians assuming control of the game from the start. A smart cut inside form the left hand edge of the area saw Antonio's rasping left foot drive tipped over by the oppo keeper after 10 minutes.

We went on to dominate the match but failed to convert any chances. Oak Hill were resolute in defense and threw bodies in front of shots etc. After 20 minutes another 30 yard drive this time form Dwayne Francis saw the keeper tip the ball onto the cross bar. The follow up shot was ballooned over.

Then against the run of play, Oak Hill broke down the left flank and cut a ball back. Their center mid ran in and slammed a low drive into the back of the net. This was against the run of play and a sickener.

We resumed our dominance and made Oak Hill work to contain us. We then lost our rhythm for the last the ten minutes of the half and this saw Oak Hill press us a little and put pressure on our defense.

We went in at 1-nil down at half time.

We made one sub and regrouped and started the 2nd half back on top. Oak Hill were bickering among themselves a little. We pull them around and had them struggling to contain us. Jermaine Da Costa picked up a cross shot and cut back in and from the edge of the area bent a lob into the top right hand corner. Somehow the oppo keeper got back across the goal and clawed the shot over the bar - save of the match!!!

Then after about 65 minutes a break down the right hand side saw a cut back pass to James Dennis on the right edge of the penalty area. He beat two players majestically with the defted of touches using the outside of his left foot. He turned on goal and let loose a low drive which the keeper spilled. Antonio Azevedo was on hand to smack the loose ball into the net. 1-1.

We increased the intensity and had Oak Hill struggling. They had a quick break down our right hand side and created an opportunity. Richard Warner, our stand in keeper, pushed the ball over the bar with a strong left hand diving save.

We kept the pressure on and from a corner, Joe Ayling rose at the back stick and powered a header back across the goal and into the net. 2-1. We had more chances to win the game but their keeper was in good form.

With 2 minutes to go they equalised from a disputed direct free kick. The two goals and the save from Richard were the only times our stand in keeper was genuinely called into action. This dominance was strongly aided by man of the match, Siyam Izycki who was everywhere, snuffing out danger and making last ditch tackles to nullify danger.

Sadly it was another two points dropped - irrespective of the oppo. We now need to pick up points in every game to get back up the league.
