Egbertian IV lost 3-1 to a very strong Salvatorians IV side. The first half saw the Egs constrict and frustrate the away side as they pressed them high up the pitch and tried to hit them on the break. The game plan duly worked with a great move down the right involving Kane and Hyde who shifted the ball inside to White and his layoff to McClean was dispatched into the side netting from 12 yards to cap a great team goal. Garrett was not troubled in the Egs goal as the home side went in 1-0 at the break. The second half saw Salvatorians throw everything they had at the Egs and this created a number of half chances that the Egs worked tirelessly to clear their lines. The turning point came midway through the second half as the game unfolded. A Salvatorians attack down the left saw a cross turned into the net by an Egs defender to bring the scores level with an OG and give the away side the impetus. The Egs could not muster the same energy levels of the first half but did create a great chance to take the lead once more but Kane blazed over from 8 yards with just the keeper to beat. This proved to be costly as 5 minutes later a long ball over the top saw Poole fouled but the referee waived it on and from 20 yards their centre forward hit a wonder goal from the edge of the box to make it 2-1 with 10mins to play. As the Egs pushed forward to find an equaliser Old Salvs broke again and put the game beyond doubt to make it 3-1 and take all 3 points.
