3rd Team 2 - 4 old Grammarians FC

Several regulars unavailable and two last minute drop outs, left us Playing the 90 with 10 men this week. We played a 4 4 1 throughout.
The first 45 mins we matched and surpassed Grams, in terms of play, the boys held the midfield and pressured high creating several scoring opportunities which we could not convert, there keeper was solid.Charlie did a great job of calling line catching Grams offsides numerous times in the first half. Two counter attacks against the run of play gave Grams the edge, closing the first 45 at 2 - 0. The second half was much of the same with Egs showing real spirit from the off and Dom, Ricky and abdullah finally getting
a end result from their play, with Daryll smashing a well timed pass into the top right hand corner. James came close twice with two well taken free kicks from 25 yards, making the keeper work. An obvious but denied call for a corner in our favour, had Egs up in arms but we should of played to whistle, grams played a cheap long ball and while most of the team were distracted gifting them a 3rd. The team continued to push on and Ricky and Abdullah set up Dom for a lovely back heel goal. The final 15 mins we pushed hard to get the equaliser and got stretched leading to the closing goal of the game for Egs. Not the result we deserved but full Marks to the boys for effort and passion. They all worked for each other for the full 90.
