Welcome to Egsonline - the official website of the Egbertian Football Club.
It has always struck me that a fundamental flaw with many football club websites is that they always assume a high level of knowledge about the football club concerned. This is not unreasonable for the high profile clubs of the Premier and Nationwide Leagues, as many football fans will be familiar with them, but it does seem an oversight for the less prestigious non league clubs and their ilk.
A considerable amount of research has gone into this website by visiting other football club sites, especially non league. Unfortunately I was often none the wiser for the visit as there was frequently very little fundamental information about the club: such as details of their league; their position in the league and where they stand in the overall shape of things, i.e. the Football League pyramid.
On this website we hope to cover all aspects of the Egbertian FC. Our intention is that by the time that you have finished your visit, you will know all there is to know about the Egs while giving you an idea of how a 'grass roots' club live.
There is now a section on the Egbertian Association . They reformed several years ago after a gap of some twenty years and the football club hopes to forge close and mutually beneficial links with them. All of the Association's members attended St Egbert's College from which the football club derived. However the College closed in 1970. Despite the football club has since gone from strength to strength.
